About Us

Our Mission

Hogar de Cristo welcomes the poorest of the poor with love and dignity to expand their opportunities for a better life. It enthusiastically supports the community in its responsibility to those discriminated against in our society. Inspired by the spirit of Alberto Hurtado SJ, it’s a transparent, efficient, and effective organization that promotes a culture of respect, justice, and unity.

Hogar de Cristo, 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Almost 80 years of transforming lives to insert into society fully.

Hogar de Cristo USA Inc. started activities in the United States on June 6,  2006. With Pompano Beach, FL offices, the 501 (C) 3 foundation promotes solidarity, advocates, and raises funds to help Hogar de Cristo finance programs in Chile. Over 250 programs and sites assist more than 42,000 users yearly. It is one of the most extensive and active charities in Chile. Fr. Alberto Hurtado SJ founded Hogar de Cristo in October 19, 1944.
