The Hogar de Cristo Foundation is a laic organization that welcomes the poorest of the poor with love and dignity, expanding their opportunities for a better life. It enthusiastically supports the community in its responsibility to those discriminated against in our society. Inspired by the spirit of Alberto Hurtado SJ, it’s a transparent, efficient, and effective organization that promotes a culture of respect, justice, and unity.

Hogar de Cristo works 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The foundation has over 81 years of experience transforming the lives of vulnerable individuals and working to integrate them fully into society.

 Hogar de Cristo USA Inc. started activities in the United States on June 6,  2006. With Miami, FL offices, the 501(c) (3) foundation promotes solidarity, advocates, and raises funds to help Hogar de Cristo finance programs in Chile. These programs and sites assist more than 38,700 users yearly. It is one of Chile’s most extensive and active charities, founded by Alberto Hurtado on October 19, 1944.
