Early Childhood Education

Hogar de Cristo maintains a network of 30 nurseries and preschools from Arica to Puerto Montt. They are strategically located to provide free, high-quality early childhood education to the country’s poorest and most vulnerable communities. These centers offer learning tailored to each child’s developmental level and support their families.

The 30 facilities operate under the Fund Transfer (VTF) model established by the National Board of Kindergartens and Nurseries (JUNJI). In 2026, the network can serve 5,975 children.

Experts emphasize that true higher education begins at this stage, when children naturally acquire knowledge. It is our duty to expand their learning opportunities to level the playing field and end inequality in Chile.

Our nurseries and preschools focus on strengthening the child’s relationship with their family and community by incorporating elements of the Montessori method, helping the child “learn how to learn.”
