What
We Do

Over 81 years transforming lives and creating new opportunities for Chile’s most disadvantaged. We tackle poverty holistically by structuring its services into seven modalities, forming a continuum of protection, support, and inclusion.

Hogar de Cristo, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

We have been transforming the lives of vulnerable people in Chile for 81 years, helping them fully integrate into society.

Hogar de Cristo USA Inc. initiated activities in the United States on June 6, 2006. With Miami, FL offices, the 501(c) (3) foundation promotes solidarity, advocates for, and raises funds for Hogar de Cristo in Chile. More than 220 sites or service units assist over 27,000 people annually across Chile. It is one of Chile’s largest and most active charities, founded by Fr. Alberto Hurtado, SJ, on October 19, 1944.

We welcome everyone in need of healing, carefully customizing our approach to each user (one-on-one) to understand their unique needs and create new opportunities.

The themes we cover through programs:

a) Older Adults.
b) Daycare and Preschools.
c) Homelessness.
d) Children/Youth abuse.
e) Drug/Alcohol abuse.
f) Education for At-Risk children/youth excluded from the public system.
g) Job inclusion. Strengthen the skills and competencies of the most disadvantaged groups excluded from the labor market, who have long histories of unemployment and deprivation (most are Women).
h) Mental disability inclusion. Goal: improve skills, training, and employment.
