Let’s provide Education to 11 teenage Mothers facing social exclusion and poverty. DONATE HERE.

Elizabeth became pregnant at 19, like many others in teenage pregnancy she was frightened and confused, everything running through her mind. However, she decided to opt for life and to continue studies as well.

Betania School, La Granja Santiago, it is one of five Re-entry Schools from Hogar de Cristo. Currently receives 11 teenage Mothers, offering them comprehensive support services and a flexible study system. The School also provides food, uniform, learning workshops in a safe environment where they find contention, encouraging high values.

More details about the campaign:

Summary: Join us to continue providing education to 11 teenage mothers in Chile who, despite their situation, are willing to continue studying and to achieve better future prospects by developing their self-esteem through quality education in a safe environment based on our Christian values of justice, respect, and solidarity. Your donations go towards school fees, learning materials, guidance and support for their children

Challenge: These 11 teenage women, who are already mothers or are pregnant, present difficulties in the educational and family dimensions and in the insertion in the labor world. The lack of networks, poverty, and lack of opportunities, in general, leads them to prioritize work overstudies. The condition of teenage pregnancy and single maternity negatively affect the possibilities of studying and working, and thus, the development of their children

We consider education as a fundamental value in the development of people. Investment in women and girls is a proven way to eliminate the cycle of poverty, that is why Hogar de Cristo, with your support, will provide complete education to these women and will also give help for their children with love and dignity. The school assesses on a case-by-case basis what support tools the girls need so that they do not drop out of school.

Long-Term Impact: Young mothers will receive a quality education that will enable them to develop themselves and to have better future prospects. Ultimately, it will lift their families and provide them with the tools to be out of poverty.
