Women always bring life and give witnesses!

They had the first honor of passing and announcing the Good News!

Silently her body takes over and accommodates to make room for a new life. Then, to do so as the center of the family, caring for all of them.

In war or crisis times and every day, they always have been at the core of fighting to protect life, once again with low-key. The best recent example was the terrible COVID-19 pandemic. Women led the health response, comprising around 70% (or maybe more) of the healthcare workforce, exposing them to a greater risk of infection and death.

It’s a reality in NGOs or nonprofit organizations, where around 80% of the workforce and volunteers are women.

Hogar de Cristo is not an exception.
It happened to ALBERTO HURTADO SJ, speaking at a women’s retreat on October 16, 1944. He brought up an incident to the ladies that occurred to him days before. The force of his inspirational speech so strongly impacted all women, who quickly started donating to organize it and gave form to what would become the Hogar de Cristo. It continues happening today, where women are critical in the workforce & voluntarism to transform lives, offering tools & opportunities to build a more just & dignified country.
Help to saving-life causes.
