Data from the 2024 Chilean census reveals that nearly 12% of surveyed households consist of individuals aged 65 years or older, and the senior population has more than doubled since 1992. They are primarily women, averaging 71 years old, who often care for another older adult or a family member with a disability.
Hogar de Cristo’s home care program targets individuals aged 60 and above who live alone and lack sufficient family and community support to ensure their well-being.
