Labor intermediation is a core pillar of Fundación Emplea, serving unemployed individuals, those with unstable employment, and people with low incomes. Emplea seeks to reduce information gaps, entry barriers, and discrimination in the labor market. How? By facilitating access to formal employment through career guidance, employer connections, ongoing support, and collaboration with employers.
In short, labor intermediation at Fundación Emplea involves:
Connecting labor supply and demand
Working with companies to create job openings
Referring and placing individuals in jobs
Providing support throughout the integration process
Focusing on vulnerable or excluded groups
All of this aims to facilitate effective, sustainable labor market integration for individuals often left out of the workforce.
Job Training
In 2026, Fundación Emplea projects that more than 5,500 people will access job training. Through personalized programs, Emplea equips men and women with tools tailored to their interests, enabling them to enter the workforce and improve their quality of life—and that of their families. The average participant is 39 years old, and 89% are Chilean. Notably, 83% are women, most of whom head households.
Job training includes technical instruction in various trades and workplace skills, along with employability assessments and labor-market activation programs.
This means that individuals are first prepared and then connected with real job opportunities, thereby increasing their chances of being hired.
