Futuro Común, Chile. (A Common Future)

Hogar de Cristo, the Comunidad de Organizaciones Solidarias, and Fundación Colunga jointly launched this initiative on October 7, 2026. It aims to foster reflection and collaborative action among the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.

The platform rests on a core conviction: Chile can no longer address its challenges in isolation.

It identifies five deeply interconnected areas—productive, institutional, social, civic coexistence, and childhood—recognizing that these are not isolated silos but components of a single structural challenge. For instance, inadequate education directly affects employment and productivity; inequality erodes public trust; a lack of care networks limits labor force participation; and the conditions in which children grow up determine the country’s future capabilities.

This comprehensive perspective enjoys broad public support. According to the Cadem (a reputable and well-known Chilean market research and public opinion polling firm): study “Social Conditions for Chile’s Development,” 91% of Chileans agree that national development depends as much on economic factors as on essential social conditions, such as access to education, healthcare, and housing.

Ten (10) Lines of Action:

In response to this assessment, *Futuro Común* proposes a development roadmap organized around 10 priority areas:

Comprehensive protection for children

A robust care policy

An educational agenda adapted to the 21st century

An environmental policy with a long-term perspective

Modernization of the State

Citizen participation aimed at restoring trust

Rebuilding the social fabric

Consolidating a more stable social protection system

Employment as a vital bridge between economic growth and social cohesion

A political system that fosters the creation of solid, lasting alliances

The proposal does not seek to implement everything at once; instead, it sets clear short- and medium-term priorities, supported by defined responsibilities and a vision that can endure beyond individual administrations.
