Artwork at St Alberto Hurtado Station-Santiago Subway, Chile. An invitation to meet us and meditate on Fr Alberto Hurtado’s legacy.

Vestigios: Arqueología de una ciudad (Vestiges: Archeology of a city)

Neighbors’ donations and love for the Art inspire an impressive work of Chilean artist, Beatrice Di Girolamo, carried out in Santiago Subway, Chile at San Alberto Hurtado Station. The Artwork is in the City of Estación Central, long ago named “Chuchunco”, nearby where the Hogar de Cristo foundation facilities are located.

A cultural integration joint initiative between Santiago Subway, Hogar de Cristo, and Fr Hurtado foundation, among others, where the whole community was involved (neighbors, schools, young people, companies, etc).

The base materials that inspired the artist Di Girolamo came directly from the neighbors, who donated multiple varieties of personal objects. The base materials were objects with a special meaning for the neighbors. They had printed stories, traces of lives imbued in each object, said the artist.

An inspiring place but also an invitation to meet us and meditate on the huge Fr Alberto Hurtado’s legacy. Right in San Alberto Hurtado Station/Santiago Subway, Chile.
