Memories of a disaster fade fast from the collective, and this is precisely what victims fear the most in the devastated zones hit by wildfires in the Valparaíso Region: Being forgotten and abandoned by the collective and authorities before they can start over. Reconstruction and trauma management are the longest and toughest journeys, so each support and contribution will be crucial to overcoming it. This crisis is far from over.
Hogar de Cristo has been building inclusion trajectories throughout Chile for almost 80 years and is present in any disaster or emergency. Their scope and permanent presence in the territories from Arica to Punta Arenas bring a deep knowledge of the communities. The Hogar de Cristo network-social programs in the Valparaíso Region, including trauma management, are set and already assisting in the complex reconstruction process.
